+ Where should we print our digital images?
If you purchasese digital files, we highly recommend using www.mpix.com to print your images. This lab uses high quality photographic papers, archival inks, provides exceptional customer service and will appropriately print the colors in your images. We do not recommend chain store labs such as Walmart, Target, pharmacy providers or Shutterfly
+ Why should we print our digital images?
My family and I are consumers of social media. We share images of our cousins, nieces and nephews with our family daily. I love that we live in an age where location no longer limits a family’s ability to share those special moments. However, we are also yard sale and estate sale connoisseurs and there we have found that the printed image is timeless. They always evoke emotion, questions and stories. Printed photos are treasured, passed down, referred to and pointed at when Grandma tells a story about Great Aunt Suzy. We are happy to provide you with digital files but encourage you to consider printing for those future generations.
+ Do you offer canvases and large prints?
We offer large prints, modern stand outs, canvas prints and canvas groupings. Large print pricing is available in your online gallery when you add an image to your cart.
+ Why should we print our images with you?
We highly recommend that you use our professional lab to create prints for your home. When you print with us we ensure the best quality image makes it onto your wall. We become part of the approval process and review your choices for appropriate sizing and colors. No image will work for every size print that is offered. All images have to be cropped and sized for printing. When you print with an outside lab at your local pharmacy or discount store you can not control which portion of an image is highlighted or cropped
+ Can we use our images on Facebook?
Yes! We’d love for you to share your images with family and friends on social media sites such as Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram! Please provide credit to Lauren Schaller Photography with your share
+ Does the time of day matter?
We prefer to conduct our photo sessions outdoors during the “golden hour” which is about 1.5 to 2 hours before sunset. The lighting at this time of the day is the best for photographs and the most flattering. We can work with you within most times however.
+ Can we have our files on a disk or a USB drive?
All of the edited digital images that meet our standards are available for purchase in your password protected online proofing gallery. You can access your gallery for up to 30 days from your session date. You can provide access to the gallery to your friends and family. You can also order prints from the gallery and we strongly encourage you to do so. Given the access that clients have to the online proofing gallery, we do not burn images to CD’s or USB drives.
+ Do you charge a session fee?
We have a minimum product purchase price of $400 dollars per session. For groups with under 5 participants there are no additional session fees. We offer 4 comprehensive product collections and a la carte pricing for prints, canvases and standouts. We highly encourage you to print photos from your session to hang in your home.
+ Can we have all the digital files and images from our session?
Clients are granted access to edited digital files that we believe to be the best of your session. Clients are not given raw images, unedited images, all the images or any and all images deemed inappropriate from a session. Image selection is at the sole discretion of the photographer.
+ What is the difference between copyright and a print release?
Copyright is the exclusive legal right, given to an originator or an assignee to print, publish, perform, film, or record literary, artistic, or musical material, and to authorize others to do the same. Lauren Schaller Photography retains the copyright to all images produced at your session. When you purchase a digital file a print release is provided, which grants you the right to print your images at a location of your choice.
+ What is a print release?
A print release is a written statement that gives you permission to print your digital files at a location of your choice. We strongly encourage you to use our professional lab to print your images. We believe you will be much happier with the resulting product and we can ensure that your images are appropriately adjusted for cropping.
+ What should we wear to our session?
We recommend any outfit that you and your family feel comfortable in. The days of having to dress up for portraits have long passed. If you and your family feel comfortable the images will reflect that. We want happy people in our pictures!
+ Will you "Photoshop" our images?
All of your images are edited to make you look your best. Basic touch ups are automatically included with your session. Major touch ups such as braces, scar or tattoo removal will require an additional fee. We do not provide slimming or extensive body adjustments
+ Should we wear matching outfits?
Matching, coordinating, it’s all your choice. Family photos tend to look the best when timeless, simple outfits such as a solid color shirt and a dark jean or other bottom are worn. Loud colors, prints and logos can date an image and be very distracting.
+ Where should we have our session?
Location is entirely up to you. However, I highly recommend a natural location such as a beach, farm or grassy field so that you are the subject of your images, and not the background.
